The NJ Hi-Railers hold several shows a year at our Silk City Station
located at 185 6th Avenue, Paterson, New Jersey.
Come see the world’s largest O Gauge Layout
measuring 185 feet long as well as news anchor Tom Snyder’s Standard Gauge Layout
and the O Gauge Layout featured on The Sopranos.
The building is handicap accessible with wheelchair ramp and elevator.
All shows run on Sundays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Entry is cash only - we do not accept credit/debit cards.
12 years & older = $9.00, 5 years to 11 years = $5, under 5 free
Food is available for purchase and raffles for
train sets will be sold.
There is even a Scavenger Hunt for the kids
if they can take their eyes off the wonderland of the layout!
The layout is in three distinct sections: the Southern Division features a large passenger terminal and a four track subway system, the Central Division features five mainlines and numerous crossovers and the Northern Division features a large yard with steam and diesel servicing facilities.
The dimensions of the layout are 185.5 feet in length by an average width of 30 feet. The layout is located on the third floor of a building in a room 250 feet by 50 feet with unobstructed views. The building is an old silk mill hence we named our room Silk City Station.
The “Red” line encircles the whole layout and consists of 420 feet of track that is almost 4 scale miles.
The entire layout has over 7500' of track which would be nearly 70 scale miles! (See video below.)
